Technology Business Improvement Specialist

peter cocks

peter_cocksI have more than 20 years experience working in technology businesses where I have held business development, specialist, operational management and senior management roles in global, start up and early stage businesses.

I started my career in software sales working with one of the very first project management applications (subsequently acquired by Primavera) and then went on to work with Digital Equipment Corporation where I managed major financial services clients across Europe.

I joined BT in the mid 90’s and managed their print and broadcast media client sales and specialist teams before going on to manage major technology client facing teams including companies such as Cisco Systems. In 2000 I was asked to join the BT and AT&T joint venture and was responsible designing, staffing and managing a global line of business with teams based across the world and >$200m revenue responsibility. During this time I travelled extensively in both the US, Europe and Asia.

Subsequently I then went on to manage BT’s major outsourcers and integrator clients many of whom like EDS were customers, partners as well as competitors. I have worked on some of the very largest BPO and IT outsourcing contracts.

In 2004 I helped establish a start up offshore contact centre business located in South Africa and following the sale of the business in 2006 went on to specialise in advising US technology and services companies looking to establish in Europe. In 2008 I then went on to be part of the team acquiring an established business consulting firm. I have since then advised major technology, media and telecoms clients on how to improve the performance of major programmes and operational processes as well as conducting due diligence for investors on technology businesses.

I am also an investor in a number of early stage businesses including Rated People.com the now well established marketplace for tradespeople.
